A tree alive with yellow fire, as we were walking up Laurel Park Hwy. ...up off the Blue Ridge Parkway--a gnarled tree I love "weeds"!
The view from the top of Curtis Creek at the BRP--it was the first tract of National Forest, under the Weeks Act, of around 1913. We hiked to a fire tower at the top (didn't do the hike all the way up that day...)
