fall photos

A tree alive with yellow fire, as we were walking up Laurel Park Hwy.
...up off the Blue Ridge Parkway--a gnarled tree
I love "weeds"!
The view from the top of Curtis Creek at the BRP--it was the first tract of National Forest, under the Weeks Act, of around 1913. We hiked to a fire tower at the top (didn't do the hike all the way up that day...)

Hemphill Bald

the above photo needs to be seen as large as possible...(open it!)

Some great fall color--taken by Don... at a pasture on the boundary of the Smoky Mtns National Park.

Harpers Ferry

I only took these three photos in Harpers Ferry--not sure why, it's a beautiful spot. I like the hand-hewn stone steps, fun to climb, too.

At Hampton House

Hampton House, outside Baltimore

Just a fun place to take photos... The Ridgely family were not so rich that they could make their historic mansion look as good as it does now, as a national park.
