Chickens of Harden Circle

Transition Hendersonville's workshop on hens and worms was a success last weekend--I'd like to thank the critters for letting us into their world for a couple of hours (I didn't bother photographing the worms--they like to be fully hidden...)

more Fall action

This was taken by Pat up in the hills near Swannanoa Saturday... I think it's mesmerizing.

And this--Tom took of Jack and the Grape Vine!

Fall, on the Parkway

Graveyard Fields was awash with tints of rose colored leaves, bright orange trees, and tawny grasses--under a brilliantly blue sky. My friend Colleen set up her traveling easel to capture some of the display & I did some sketches (I almost sat on that funny caterpillar...)

Real Life Netsuke

I'm reading Edmund de Waal's wonderful book "The Hare with Amber Eyes" and it makes me want to touch netsuke, those little Japanese carvings--I love these way acorns look, the strangely-shaped pears, and the overripe persimmon--all found recently, just walking around town, and on hikes.
